I also bought a kit to get me by when I was places I couldn't smoke. I tried it at home to see how well it would work, and quit smoking right then and there. I never even finished the open pack on my desk.
From a pack a day for 30 years to zero for three and a half months in 1 moment.

LoL the people at his work (he's a walgreens manager) at first were begging me to let him smoke and i told them if he goes back to smoking i swear your lives will be worse as you will have to deal with me! lol, but he eventually calmed down. I will admit when you smell a cigarette (on the right person, as most stink but some dont) that feeling to take a drag of a real cigarette is still there sometimes, but with a wee bit of self control and if your angst gets too bad have a small back up bottle of 24mg nicotine you'll be fine. I will say that neither of us smoked menthol cigarettes before we quit and went to vape, but now we do and since we found the Newport flavor juice all has been right with the world (we are STILL working out a great setup as well, though it would be the twist and the CE4 clearomizers, but planning to try the vivi novas as they seem to be all the rave! hoping that will do the trick!)

Welcome xthestrukonex!! I consider myself one of the lucky ones...the day I got my first kit in the mail was the last day I ever smoked a cigarette. THAT DAY I threw away my cigarette case and 3 days later 2 full packs of cigarettes went in the trash. I knew that day I would never go back. You can see in my sig below how long its been. YOU CAN DO THIS! I wish you the best of luck!

Both my hubby and I both quit right when we started with e-cigs and we did it with Blu. We both had different detox symptoms. He had terrible, terrible, smelly, horrible gas for about 4 days. I had a dry throat because I wasn't drinking enough water and got a lot of abdominal gas which I attributed to swallowing too much air from Vaping wrong (like you can get from using a straw).

The point that zapped brought up is very important for you to remember you may want to quit right away but like zapped said - that doesn't always happen.

My husband and I have set 48 people up with kits and each one could tell you a different story about how they quit. One convert used Blu for about 2 1/2 months and then quit smoking and Vaping. Another convert smoked 1-3 cigs a day for over a year while Vaping but recently he got a LavaTube from us and has found his sweet spot at 5 volts and has been smoke free for, I guess it would be 1 1/2 months now. Another didn't try until he saw it had been a year smoke free for us. The first couple days he smoked too, then went to just Vaping. He left his gear at home one day and bought a pack of smokes, he smoked about 1/2 a cig and was disgusted. He tossed the rest of the pack. He has been smoke free for 7 months now.

Everyone's experience is different. The important thing is that you keep trying until you find the right e-liquid, the right nicotine mg and the right e-cig and voltage.

Welcome to ECF xthestrukonex! You can do this!!

I was lucky, I didn't have the craving even with my dad smoking in the same vehicle as me. The e-cig just satiated me, but I do NOT like the ashtray smell. Funny how that smell was totally different when I smoked.

I got my first e-cigs (a DSE901 kit from AquaVapor) for my birthday the second week of October.

I haven't smoked a single cigarette since I opened that box...

I quit, but I wanted to quit. So I was motivated. Picked up an expensive KGO at a retail shop for $85. Then learned enough to realize that would never last. I milked it along until I could get better stuff in the mail through ECF vendors. Without this I just could not deal with the commute to work and home, now I don't even think about the analogs.

I think the key here is not to stop smoking cold turkey, i wasnt able to do it i went from a pack and a half a day to 2-3 analogs a day on day 1 its been a month and i can now go 1 week without a single analog and ill be fine, i get the occasional craving but i just pick up my twist and get on ecf and check out new products for a bit and im all good i would suggest u just massively cut down on analogs at first.

one important thing to mention is when i smoke analogs now, they taste horrible and i mean horrible terrible horrible.

if u feel comfortable quitting cold turkey on day one more power to you but keep in mind the cravings may cause more trouble than smoking a few analogs untill ur basically down to 0.

    Good luck!
    and welcome!

I did. But I think it's better not to think of it as an all-or-nothing situation. Every cigarette you can replace with some vapor is success. I planned on using vape as a supplement, and was pleasantly surprised.

I did not but I had an inkling that I could.

I wholeheartedly agree with Zapped that each and every cigarette not smoked is a victory. At first I thought I would not try to kick cigs altogether. I would try and replace the odd cigarette with a vape here and there. So instead of smoking in the morning while walking the dog, I'd vape. At night no more last cigarette but a vape. After a week I noticed that I had saved myself 1 pack a week. Next thing you know it was 2 packs and then 3. Honestly switching to vaping was one of the best decisions of my life right up there with

-Asking the woman who is now my wife to marry me.
-Not betting on the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
-Keeping my VHS tapes of Dr. Who episodes from my early teenage years.

Basically don't worry if in regards to vaping you are not "all in". It will happen and I think it will happen perhaps more quickly than you think. Good luck and happy vaping. I think I'll kick back enjoy some tasty 555 and watch "Hand of Fear", it is the last episode with Sarah Jane Smith as the Doctor's companion. Breaks my heart every time.

P.S when I wrote "Keeping my VHS tapes of Dr. Who episodes from my early teenage years." I meant "Keeping my VHS tapes of Dr. Who episodes from my early lonely teenage years.".
